Pan.bg was the first to get the information that finally the Frame agreement for the repair and maintenance of the 3 C-27J Spartans between Bulgarian MoD and Italian company Alenia was signed. A lot of conflicting issues remained and most likely they will cause some problems in the near future. They are associated mostly with highly inflated prices and amazing amount of spare parts for the aircraft that are brand new. And last but not least the last supplied C-27J is still under guarantee.
As PAN@BG has already inform you the cost of the flying hour of C-27Js in the Air Force of U.S. and Lithuania is much lower than for the Bulgarian Spartans.
Frame agreements provide not bad practice for maintaining the aircraft in high level of availability although the Bulgarian MoD policy in that area is quite sluggish.
