Polish and Slovak companies are interested in Bulgarian MiG-29 modernization, informed from the MoD of Bulgaria. The foreign companies, the Polish WZL 2 and the Slovak Letecke Opravovne Trencin (LOT), participated in the modernization of their MiG-29s. They intend soon to pay a visit to the Bulgarian MoD and make presentations.
Bulgaria has to free some military frequencies for civil use, used by the Air Force and hence some modernization of MiG-29’s avionics is required. The total price required for this modernization up to 2015 is BGN150 million, only BGN 30 million is available.
