The fortress Castro Palamidi is located in the Greek town of Nafplio on the eastern shore of Peloponnisos peninsula.
It was built in the period 1711-1714 during the Venetian occupation of Nafplio according to the plans of engineer Lasalle.

In 1715 it was captured by the Turks and they hold it until the Greek Revolution of 1822. In 1828 Nafplio became the first capital of modern Greece.
