MiG-29 fighter crashed in the Black sea during the "Shabla 21" live-fire tactical exercise

During a night flight over the Black sea MiG-29 fighter of Bulgarian AF lost radio communication and disappeared from radars at 00:45. A search and rescue operation was launched immediately and it is still in progress. It involves forces and assets from the Navy, the Joint Special Operations Command, the Border Police, and the Air Force.

The fighter is involved in "Shabla 21" live-fire tactical exercise, which has been suspended after the incident.

„Shabla 21" live-fire tactical exercise takes place at Shabla firing range at the Black sea. It involves participants from the Bulgarian Air Force, Navy, Army and Special forces, as well Serbian Air Force and US marines.
